Corona Foundation

The purpose of the Foundation is to establish, develop and carry out programs for the development of the local community in all sectors related to the quality of life: economic, social, cultural, educational, sports and youth and environmental.

The foundation is involved in the development of rural communities as a founding member of many local action groups:

• GAL Rediu Prăjeni,
• GAL Stefan cel Mare,
• GAL Movila lui Burcel

Our activities:

• The promotion of women’s rights and equality between women and men determined the Foundation, among other, to found of the Association Romanian Women’s Lobby-RWL, whose mission is to raise awareness about the real inequalities between women and men in both spheres of public life and private space, in Romania and Europe. The organization, with the secretariat in Iasi, has 22 active members and is a member of the European Women’s Lobby (EWL) since October 27, 2007.
• The protection of people from vulnerable groups (the elderly, young people, adults) is a permanent concern, that determined the registration of the Foundation as a member of the Federation of NGOs for Social Services – FONSS, an organization with 35 members at national level that wants to be the voice of the sector in the relationship with the Public Authorities and a promoter of public policies at the local and national level.
• Considering the continuous concern for employment, the Corona Foundation is a member of the Pact for Employment and Social Inclusion North East Region.
• Entrepreneurship and Innovation as an engine of local development is also supported through active partnerships with the Chamber of Commerce Iași, local public authorities from the North East Region, universities, research centres and ADR Nord Est. Also, we are a member of the Regional Innovation Consortium.
